American Sign Language Track
Degree: BS in Speech and Hearing Science
Degree requirements include:

- 34–37 hours to satisfy General Education requirements, depending upon selection of track
- 25 hours of required SHS core classes
- 24 hours of approved courses for the Human Communication Science concentration
- Approximately 45 hours of free electives to meet the 128 minimum number of hours required for graduation.
- Students are reminded that courses selected to count towards the Human Communication Science concentration cannot also count as General Education and foreign language requirements.
American Sign Language—Required Classes
The following classes are required for those pursuing a concentration in American Sign Language
(minimum of 24 hours):

- SHS 121—American Sign Language 1—4 hours

- SHS 321—American Sign Language 3—4 hours

- SHS 222—Language and Culture of Deaf Communities—3 hours

- SHS/EPSY 252—American Deaf Culture & Education—3 hours

Students may choose a minimum of six hours from the following courses:
