All students must complete a series of SHS core classes regardless of their area of concentration. The SHS curriculum is currently in the process of being revised. Students are advised to work with the SHS academic advisor to ensure courses are taken in proper sequential order. For course descriptions, see the course catalog.

• SHS 240—Intro to Sound and Hearing Science—3 hours
  Offered Spring only. Quantitative Reasoning 2 course
• SHS 300—Anatomy & Physiology of the Speech Mechanism—4 hours
  Offered Fall only. Same as LING 300
• SHS 301—General Speech Science—4 hours—Offered Spring only.
  Same as LING 303
• NOTE: SHS 301 should be taken after SHS 300.
• SHS 320—Development of Spoken Language—3 hours
