- Area of Professional Interest
- Dr. Quinto-Pozos' areas of interest include the language and culture of Deaf communities—both in the United States and in Latin America. In addition to his research and teaching, Professor Quinto-Pozos is involved in the field of sign language interpretation. A current project includes serving as a content expert for the development of a trilingual (English-Spanish-American Sign Language) certification exam for sign language interpreters. The test is being developed by the University of Arizona's National Center for Interpretation. His research focuses primarily on linguistic phenomena in American Sign Language and Mexican Sign Language.
