Lisa M. Crane, M.A., (Bowling Green State University, University of Illinois), CCC-Speech-Language Pathology, License in Speech-Language Pathology, Illinois, Illinois Type 10 teaching certificate, Hanen certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Ms. Crane is the Director of the Speech Language Pathology Clinic. She teaches Advanced Language Diagnostics, Birth to Three Intervention, and Advanced Clinical Practicum to graduate master’s speech-language pathology students, and Pre-Practicum to undergraduate students in Speech and Hearing Science. Ms. Crane supervises clinical services including intervention & diagnostics. She arranges clinical experiences for undergraduate students interested in speech-language pathology. Her primary areas of interest include infant-toddler & preschool language impairments, phonology, fluency disorders, autism, supervision, and administration. Ms. Crane is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the Midwest Clinic Directors Consortium, and the Illinois Speech Language Hearing Association (ISHA), serving on the ISHA Early Intervention Committee.
Jennifer Cravens, M.A. (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), CCC-Speech-Language Pathology, License in Speech-Language Pathology, Illinois. Ms. Cravens is a part-time Clinical Supervisor in the Speech-Language Clinic, and she serves as a visiting guest lecturer for the Motor Speech Disorders course. Her clinical interests include adult and pediatric dysphagia and motor speech disorders. Ms. Cravens is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA).
Lou Echols-Chambers, M.S. (Purdue University), CCC-Audiology, Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), License in Audiology, Illinois. Ms. Echols-Chambers is the Director of Audiology Clinic. Her primary areas of interest include adult and pediatric aural rehabilitation and hearing aid evaluation procedures. Ms. Echols-Chambers is responsible for supervising audiological services in the Audiology Clinic and for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She teaches a graduate diagnostic audiology lab and a graduate course that addresses professional, ethical, and legal issues of speech-language pathology and audiology, and coordinates a manual communication course. Ms. Echols-Chambers coordinates all external placements for graduate audiology students and arranges for undergraduate students interested in audioloogy to participate in the Audiology Clinic. She oversees several hearing conservation contracts. She is a member of the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association and the American Academy of Audiology.
Tracy Gunderson, M.S. (University of Wisconsin-Madison), CCC-Speech-Language Pathology, License in Speech-Language Pathology, Illinois, Illinois Type 10 teaching certificate. Ms. Gunderson is a part-time clinical supervisor in the Speech-Language Clinic. Her primary interests include augmentative communication and assistive technology for all ages, early intervention, and autism.
Jeanne L. Kramer, (Purdue University). CCC-Speech-Language Pathology. Ms. Kramer is a part-time clinical supervisor in the Speech-Language Clinic. Her areas of interest include adult neurological rehabilitation, dysphagia, and communication disorders affectin the geriatric population.
Carol Parker, M.A. (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), CCC-Audiology, License in Audiology, Illinois. Ms. Parker is a clinical supervisor in the Audiology Clinic. She has extensive knowledge and experience in diagnostic audiology, evoked potential testing, and hearing aid evaluation procedures. She has an interest in working with advanced technology programmable and digital hearing aids. Her teaching responsibilities include a graduate audiology hearing aid lab.
Katherine M. Sponder, M.A. (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), CCC-Speech-Language Pathology, License in Speech-Language Pathology, Illinois, Illinois Type 73 teaching certificate. Ms. Sponder is a part-time clinical supervisor in the Speech-Language Clinic, as well as a practicing school-based speech pathologist. Her clinical interests include school-age phonology, articulation, and language disorders.
Susan Root, M.A. (Michigan State University), CCC - Speech Language Pathology, License in Speech Language Pathology, Illinois. Ms. Root is a clinical supervisor in the Speech-Language Clinic. Her primary areas of interest include voice, communication disorders related to laryngeal cancer, and adult neuropathologies. She currently teaches the undergraduate courses entitled Voice Disorders and Children, Communication, and Language Ability. Ms. Root is a member of the board of the Eastern Illinois Speech-Hearing-Language Association, and is a member of the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA) and the Amerincan Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has served as Chair of the Representative Council to ISHA.
Kathi Ritten, M.S. in Ed. Ms. Ritten is the undergraduate academic advisor for Speech and Hearing Science majors. She advises all undergraduate students in the department as well as potential applicants who may be interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science. She also teaches an orientation course for all first semester Speech and Hearing Science majors and is the co-advisor for the local chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
