Speech and Hearing Science Speech-Language Pathology Clinic

Vision

To be recognized as one of the leading facilities in the community that provides services to individuals throughout the lifespan with communicative impairments, and improving their quality of life.

The Speech-Language Pathology Clinic serves 175–200 children and adults annually providing the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Individual and group therapy is provided mostly by graduate students under the supervision of an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP).

New Speech Language Clinic

The Speech-Language Pathology Clinic clinic has moved to a new location in Research Park where it shares facilities with the Chesterbrook Academy. In addition to the services already provided, the conveniently-located, state-of-the-art site will facilitate best practice in the area of speech-language therapy for adults and children through:

  • the creation of naturalistic environments including kitchen, living room, and preschool areas
  • cutting-edge technology that includes video monitoring
  • multisensory room for interdisciplinary study

Speech-language Camps for Kids

The Department of Speech and Hearing Science Speech-Language Pathology Clinic offers a variety of summer camps for children with communication impairments. Get camp details and registration form.

Scheduling and Fees

Any person who is suspected of having speech difficulty can be seen at the Speech-Language Pathology Clinic. No referral is necessary (unless requested by their insurance), although many clients are referred by medical and educational agencies.

  • Appointments can be made by calling 217-333-2230.
  • Free parking is available at the clinic.

Speech-Language Pathology Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Evening appointments are available are based on the current SLP Clinic schedule.

Clinical services are provided in three different sessions:

  • Fall (September–December)
  • Spring (January–May)
  • Summer (June–July)
